WordPress is open source software you can use to create a beautiful website, blog, or app. From blogs to small business to large corporations, 31% of the internet uses WordPress to manage their sites. That’s a pretty big chunk of the market. WordPress is generally easy to use and its functionality can be extended easily via plugins, most of which are free or very reasonably priced. I’m going to look at a few sites that could benefit from WordPress. These are all seemingly minor changes but would make a huge difference in the user experience which could lead to more revenue. The website is the first view of the product and if the product doesn’t look good on the screen there is doubt it will look good in person.

Toto’s African Cuisine is first on my list. As it stands the site is cluttered and not very attractive. The pictures of the food are hidden in a slow-moving carousel. With WordPress, the menu can be featured on one page and pictures can be included alongside. Description of the food can be on the same page as the menu so the user doesn’t have to click too many times to get a description of what they want. The color on the site could use a little improvement as well. Research shows that red is a good color for restaurants, although there’s red on the site it is very minimal and not used properly. With WordPress, the site could be more attractive drawing in more customers. Once the site is up, there would be little maintenance required to keep the site up to date.

The Savoy is next but probably should have been first. Believe it or not, this is a nightclub but from the home page, I can’t tell. With WordPress, a theme that supports the nightlife could really give the site the energy a nightclub deserves. A special events page can be added that can be easily updated by the club manager. WordPress has payment plugins that could be added for ticket purchases so a user would not need to leave the site to complete their purchase. Pictures of patrons dancing can easily be added to the site and updated as needed. Right now it’s too wordy for people that just want to dance and have fun and a fun WordPress theme could change all that.

A Radiant Life could also use the help of WordPress. This is another site that is too wordy for fitness. There are literally no pictures on this site, no yoga poses to inspire the user. With WordPress, a gallery can be added to showcase yoga poses the user can learn from the studio. There is also a class calendar that takes the user to a new website which does not make for a good user experience. WordPress has appointment and calendar plugins that would allow the user to browse the schedule and make an appointment without leaving the website.
